WHAT IS LASER HAIR REMOVAL?
Laser hair removal is a process in which a laser beam (in this case, a diode), is directed to a hair follicle in its growth phase. The high intensity beam light is attracted to the dark pigment of the hair. The light (energy) travels down the hair shaft to the follicle, the area that produces the hair, and effectively destroys it without damaging the surrounding skin.
There are other options for hair removal available, but these are often time-consuming, painful, and the results are temporary. These options include electrolysis, waxing, depilatories, hair-bleaching, and of course shaving. The cost of these repetitive procedures adds up over time in both the financial output and the time required for hair-free maintenance.
IS LASER HAIR REMOVAL PERMANENT?
Laser hair removal is capable of reducing hair growth by approximately 70% to 90%. Several sessions spaced approximately 4- 6 weeks apart will destroy nearly all hair. Some fine hair regrowth may occur over time, and certain factors such as hormones, diet, age, and medical conditions may also affect hair regrowth. However, carefully following the protocol of your laser specialist should result in excellent results. Occasional follow-up treatments may be necessary as determined by the client.
IS LASER HAIR REMOVAL PAINFUL?

The 800HRP is a diode laser and designed to provide accelerated results with minimal discomfort. The machine contains two cooling systems. These cooling conduits provide not only comfort before, during, and after the procedure, but also offer a much greater margin of safety to the surrounding tissue. Nearly all clients will experience a mild sensation of heat during treatment. If you experience any feeling of discomfort, computerized settings can be adjusted. As the client adapts to on going treatments, settings may be carefully increased.
AM I AN APPROPRIATE CANDIDATE FOR LASER HAIR REMOVAL?
The best candidates for laser hair removal, for both men and women are fair-skinned individuals with dark hair. Clients with very fine, light or blonde hair will probably not achieve optimal results. In previous years, persons with darker pigmented skin had been considered “iffy” candidates, due to the risk of skin burn. Recently, however, laser technology has advanced to the point where all skin types may be safely and effectively treated. Clients with darker skin may need a few more sessions than those with lighter skin.
WHAT AREAS OF THE BODY CAN BE LASER TREATED?
Hair on nearly every part of the body for men and women can be safely and effectively treated. Some of the most requested areas for women are the bikini area, armpits, legs, and face.
For men, removal of back hair is especially popular. Do not be shy in asking about any area you wish to be treated.
